Yzerfontein is known for its natural beauty and unspoilt coastline with both rocky and sandy beaches, including the famous Sixteen Mile beach that stretches all the way to Postberg Nature Reserve. Enjoy beach and nature walks, cycling and mountain biking, whale and dolphin watching, bird watching (Pelicans, Flamingos, Oyster Catchers, and the endangered Black Tobie, among others), scenic drives, watersports, fields of wild flowers during Spring and visits to the West Coast National Park in the year-round sunshine and mild winter climate, where daytime temperatures seldom fall below 10º C.
Yzerfontein's small craft harbour is an angler's dream, well known for its snoek and crayfish. The village also offers an outstanding bakery and craft brewery, while an award winning wine farm, the West Coast Fossil Park, Langebaan Lagoon, and a San Culture and Education Centre rank among the many nearby attractions.
