The White Lion Lodge is situated along the Klein Kalkoenshoek River on the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. The 54000 ha privately owned Wildlife Reserve is situated along the Warmwaterberg Mountains, in the heart of the little Karoo, along the Route 62, the longest Wine Route - The Little Karoo Wine Route - in the world.

The Wildlife Reserve in only a 3 hours drive from Cape Town, which makes it, the closest free roaming big 5 Reserve to Cape Town.54000 Hectares of farmland in the Klein Karoo were restored and restocked with African wildlife. Today, thousands of animals including white and tawny lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant and cheetah roam free in this diverse and fascinating reserve.

Sanbona is home to the only free self-sustaining White Lions in the world, the big five and the endangered riverine rabbit.The privately owned White Lion Lodge at Sanbona offers world-class standards in luxury accommodation, exceptional personal service and delicious cuisine.

The Lodge lies in the southern part of the Reserve and is set along a tranquil, remote river valley offering an ultimate Karoo experience.

Accommodation
The unique Lodge offers four individual stilted glass and thatch Suites. Each has a spacious bedroom, a dressing room, a full bathroom and an own outdoor shower. Each Suite is equipped with a fireplace, satellite television, under floor heating, air-conditioning, mini bar fridge, tea and coffee making facility.

Panoramic views over the riverbed can be enjoyed from the private wooden veranda.
The bathroom offers twin hand basins, a spacious bath, separate rain dance shower, toilet and bidet. The bedrooms are decorated with hand made bed linen, custom made fabrics and furniture which blend in with the nature and environment.

A 15-meter sparkling rim flow swimming pool invites our guests to relax in the afternoon.

The Lodge is a combination of contemporary decor mixed with Karoo sandstone, timber, thatch, airy free flowing spaces and hues of Karoo slate are breathtaking stylish, sophisticated yet refreshingly simple. Natural fibres and textures characterise the interiors. The interactive kitchen allows for intimate and informal dining.

Terms and Conditions
The rates are quoted per Lodge room per night, based on 2 people sharing
Rate includes accommodation, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), selected, local South African beverages and two game drives.

Children
Children under the age of 12 years are accommodated by prior arrangement only.
Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted on any walking safaris.

Booking policy
A minimum of a two nights stay applies through out the year.

Payment/Cancellation policy
To secure a booking, 50% deposit is required on confirmation of the reservation.
Full prepayment required 30 days prior to arrival.
For bookings made within 30 days of travel, full payment is required on confirmation.

25% of fee if the cancellation is less than 30 days prior to arrival
50% of fee if the cancelation is less than 15 days prior to arrival
100% of fee if the cancellation is less than 7 days prior to arrival

Transfers
Can be arranged on request at an additional cost.
We will gladly book these on request.
A transfer from the Gate on request and free of charge.
