Welcome To The Hide Safari Camp, Hwange Lodges
The Hide Safari Camp is the product of our passion for nature in general, and Hwange National Park in particular. Built in 1992 by the Preston family, who remain deeply involved to this day, The Hide Safari Camp has earned its reputation as a consummate safari destination, for both the exceptional wildlife experience and the hospitality it offers.

As our guest, you'll stay in one of just ten beautiful tented suites with views over the waterhole, where animals congregate day and night. Between game drives and walks in the National Park, there is plenty of time to relax in a comfortable lounge or sit quietly in a hide to watch the wildlife. After meals all together around a giant table or al fresco under the Acacia trees, you can spend a lazy afternoon by the plunge pool or in the shade of your verandah.

Location
Situated on the eastern boundary of the famous Hwange National Park in a 5 square km area, The Hide is one of the few private camps in the National Park itself.
Directions

By Road
• Most guests fly into Victoria Falls Airport and then take the two hour road transfer to Hwange Main Camp where guests are met by a Hide representative. The Hide is a little over an hours drive from Hwange Airport or Hwange Main Camp through the National Park. This transfer is conducted in a Hide open Safari vehicle and offers game viewing opportunities.

Self-Drive
• Guests can opt to self-drive into Camp in their own 4WD vehicles. Directions are available on request.

By Air
• Half hour flights between Victoria Falls Airport to Hwange Airport are available daily.
• This scheduled charter departs 1030hrs from Victoria Falls Airport and 1130hrs from Hwange Airport (minimum of 2 persons).

Accommodation
Accommodation is in 10 large East African style luxury tents under thatch, all overlooking the main waterhole.
Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom, consisting of shower, hand basin and flush toilet along with a small teak dressing table and most importantly, piping hot water at night and in the mornings.
All tents have been mosquito proofed and have free standing fans. The spacious bedroom areas are very tastefully furnished with solid Zimbabwe Teak furniture and each are individually decorated. There are 7 twin-bedded, 1 double and 2 honeymoon tents. The honeymoon tents have an additional outside bath where guests can relax whilst enjoying the stunning views.

Rates are quoted per room per night
Check-in time 12:00hrs
Check-out time 11:00hrs
The Hide Safari Camp rate includes accommodation, full board, all standard beverages and 4 activities per day.
All National Park Fees at all properties are excluded and payable direct in CASH by guests.
Rates are subject to change without prior notice.
All Rates are quoted inclusive of Government Tourism Levy currently at 2%
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they have comprehensive medical and travel insurance for the duration of their stay.

Payment Policy
Full pre-payment is required 40 days prior to the date of arrival in order to secure the reservation. On bookings made less than 40 days prior to arrival date full payment is required on confirmation.
Direct bank transfer is our preferred method of payment and must be paid in the currency as invoiced into relevant Rand (ZAR) / United States Dollar (USD) accounts as stated on the invoice/statement. All incoming payments should be gross and bank charges are for the payee’s account.

Child Policy
No children under 10years unless in a group taking over the whole lodge. 10 – 12 years pay 40% of adult per person sharing rate in same tent as parents (max 1 child). 60% of adult rate if taking a separate tent.

Cancellation Policy
Prior to date of arrival:
More than 30 days – no charge.
29 – 21 days – 25%.
20 -11 days – 50%.
Less than 10 days – 75%.
The above percentages are based on the total value of the individual reservation as booked.
During the PEAK months of July, August, September and October, we reserve the right to charge FULL payment on any bookings cancelled 21 days prior to arrival
Refunds if agreed are subject to a 10% administration fee.
