Welcome To The Kariega Game Reserve, Garden Route, Eastern Cape
This internationally renowned malaria-free "Big-5" private game reserve is set in 9000 hectares of pristine African wilderness incorporating the picturesque Kariega and Bushman’s Rivers, just 10 minutes from Kenton-on-sea and 80 minutes from Port Elizabeth. Situated in the heart of 1820 Settler Country, the reserve is a natural extension to a trip along South Africa’s famous Garden Route.

Kariega offers a combination of “Big-5” game viewing and an expansive variety of fauna, flora and birdlife in a landscape that spans across 5 different eco systems offering the most dramatic views and vistas. The result is very powerful and truly unique to Kariega.

In addition to unforgettable game viewing from open vehicles with qualified game rangers, the Kariega experience includes guided walks close to abundant game and birdlife and a diversity of activities which include river cruises on the popular “Kariega Queen”, canoeing, fishing, a spa and gym and visits to the nearby golden beaches of Kenton-on-Sea.

Location
Situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, at the end of South Africa’s famous Garden Route. The Reserve incorporates the Kariega and Bushmans Rivers, is 14kms from Kenton-on-Sea and 141kms from Port Elizabeth.

• By air:
Port Elizabeth airport is only 80 minutes drive from Kariega.
• By road from Port Elizabeth :
Kariega Main Lodge, Ukhozi Lodge and The Homestead (Main Reception)
Travel along the N2 from Port Elizabeth towards Grahamstown and choose one of 2 alternative routes:
Route 1:
The coastal route on the R72 towards Port Alfred, via Alexandria to Kenton-on-Sea, where you turn inland and proceed for 14 kms on the R343.
Route 2:
Proceed on the N2 towards Grahamstown for about 110 km and turn right before reaching Grahamstown onto the tarred road (R343) to Salem and Kenton-on-Sea for a distance of 32 kms.
River Lodge
Travel along the N2 from Port Elizabeth towards Grahamstown and take the R72 turn-off towards Port Alfred via Alexandria, The turnoff to River Lodge is signposted and is exactly 15 kms beyond Alexandria.

• Rates are quoted per person per night sharing
• All inclusive rate includes all mealls + 2 activities per day
• Children 12 years and under pay 50% of the rate at Kariega Main Lodge.
• Ukhozi Lodge does not accommodate children of 10 years and younger.
• Fuil accommodation and other chargesare payable 30 days prior to arrival.

Cancellation Policy:
• 25% of charges payable if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
• 50% of charges payable if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival.
• 100% of charges payable if cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival.
