At Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge we offer accommodation ranging from the fully inclusive pampered hospitality of the Lodge a spectacular home of luxury with its eight African Colonial rooms to the secluded self-catering Homestead (a restored old farmhouse- build in 1906) and the Crooked Creekside Cottage.
Accommodation
Dawson’s Game and Trout Lodge, a unique African Experience offers exclusive luxury in eight individually styled luxurious en-suite rooms with cosy fireplaces and large Victorian-style bathrooms.
All of our facilities are of the highest standard, large suites with dry-stone interior walls, percale linen, handpicked antique furniture, a walk-in closet and heated towel rails, a choice of king size or twin beds is available.
Facilities
The rich décor and the wrap around veranda with its stunning views create an African ambiance which takes you back to the grandeur and splendour of the Colonial era. The original Dawson’s home houses the Reception, Three Lounges, Dining Room, Library, TV Room and Bar .
Cuisine
Marvel at our chef’s innovative talent while you sit back and soak up the atmosphere, savouring the taste and aroma of cuisine in its most exquisite form. Breakfast and lunch can be served either in the privacy of your own room, on the patio or enjoyed in our dining room.
Dinner each evening is a celebration.
For a romantic brunch or lunch, our chef will prepare a sumptuous picnic basket which you can enjoy at one of the trout dams, on the lawn, under the trees or at one of the many secluded picnic spots on the farm.
The Homestead is a country comfortable old farmhouse which has been gorgeously restored.
It accommodates 14 guests in 7 double bedrooms, 4 en-suite, 1inter-leading and 2 sharing a bathroom.
It has a TV room with DSTV and a large communal recreational Lapa with an indoor and outdoor braai and its own swimming pool, ideal for large parties.
Creekside Cottage
The Crooked Creekside Cottage is rustic but comfortable and very secluded!
It ideally accommodates 4 guests but can accommodate an additional 2 guests on a Sleeper Couch in the lounge.
The Cottage is basically ‘semi’ open plan with Kitchen, Lounge (including DSTV) & Dining Room downstairs. Leading off in an alcove is a bedroom sleeping 2 guests on single beds with a separate en suite toilet / shower. On the mezzanine is a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a toilet & bath.
For those staying at the Homestead or Creek Cottage, meals at the Main Lodge are gladly accommodated
